Method 3: Use a USB-C Cable

Using a USB-C cable is the most reliable method to power off your PS5 controller while not near your console. Connect your PS5 controller to any charging dock or a wall adapter using a USB-C cable. The controller will charge, and once it's fully charged, it will turn off to preserve battery life. You can then unplug it from the cable, and you're good to go.

Method 4: Wait for the Automatic Shutoff

Your PS5 controller has an automatic shutoff feature that activates after no input is detected for a while. The default time for this automatic shutoff feature is set at 10 minutes, but you can change it to 30 or 60 minutes. To change the automatic shutoff time, go to the 'Settings' menu on your PS5 console, select 'System,' then 'Power Saving,' and finally 'Time Until Controllers Turn Off.' Select the preferred shutoff time.
