A golf cart battery is not the type of battery that recharges as you drive it. A cart that is plenty will run down the battery daily and will require a full charging each night. This process of recharging and discharging is hard of a lead type of battery which can cause short battery lifespan. How do I repair a golf cart battery?

If your not gonna buy refurbished golf cart batteries than you will be required to wash a battery with water, and the water should not enter the battery cell. Epsom salt wills needed to be used to repair the battery. Below are detailed methods of doing this for refurbishing golf cart batteries:

Step One

You will need to open the compartment of this battery.

Step Two

Clean all corrosion from the battery. You should wear your glove and protective clothes, then add a table spoon of baking powder to water. Mix evenly and used a paint brush to clean all type corrosion points of the battery, most notably the terminal area of the battery. There will be a fizzle in the area that has contact with the battery terminal.

Step Three

Wash the brush with clean water. Then wipe the battery with the brush until you have clean all the corrosion.

Step Four

Check for any crack or any defection. Then make sure you replace those that can have defection, especially if acid is leaking through the compartment.

Step Five

Remove the cover of the battery. Then exposed distilled water to the battery that is exposed to the air. Just make sure all the plates are covered.

Step Six

You should charge the battery overnight to make it 12-volt battery. Attach the red wire to the positive (+) pole of the battery and the black wire to the negative (-) pole of the battery. Switch on the charger once it's connected.

If the charger indicates full charged, check the cells and make sure distilled water is added to any battery that is exposed to the air. If the battery does not show full charge, then go to step eight.

You should mix about 8 ounces of Epsom salts into distilled water. Then stir it evenly. Fill the battery cell with this solution.

Step Ten
